You can get them to fall for any old line
They watch a commercial then rush out to buy
Purchase a brand name and don’t know why
Advertisers regularly all make a heap
Knowing the public are just like sheep
Convincing the people they are saving plenty

They swallow each word of the Government’s line
Believing America is doing just fine
With lay-offs and firings Americans have suffered
While Bush claimed the economy had now recovered
When he starts a war, people cheer, go wild
Never see shown, dead woman or child
Democracy and freedom, they tell the loyal
What it’s really about, is power and oil
The truth has been hidden for so very long
They think America does nothing wrong
Just as corrupt as any land
They just hide the truth and work underhand
The credo they follow is usually viable
Deny and deny ‘til it’s undeniable
While Government hawks profess their might
They themselves never go to fight
Bush claimed Iraq made his temper boil
While under the table he bought their oil
Complained about each soldier that died
While providing the guns to the other side
“Purchasing drugs helps terror” claimed Bush
But something else he didn’t push
Supporters of terrorism, you may recall
Are located in countries exporting oil
So every time you buy some gas
A terrorist act may come to pass
To join this war, Britain had not a care
Til Bush made a puppet out of Blair
These problems we’d have never known
If America left other countries alone
As they claimed their war would cause a solution
Those acts were banned by the Constitution
As continual war is on the brink
Will Americans ever start to think?
