NEWSLETTER 14...THIS AND THAT

Well my friends, it’s been a quiet time lately since our last two marriages. I think that the world economy problems have something to do with it as people are really cutting back on their travelling...just ask the airlines who are in big financial trouble! One of our British friends has delayed his planned visit here due to the UK’s poor economy.

We received two interesting emails for prospective clients who first contacted us over two years ago. They had given some thought to visiting us but had decided to marry local women instead. Now both of them are divorced...one for the second time. Talk about gluttons for punishment. Anyway they are now convinced that there is no future for them with Western women and are re-planning to visit here.

My husband, who spent many years as a technical writer has started writing articles for the web. They have been published all over the place. Some of them are about dating and marriage and one is just a bit of fun. The British humour appears to be very different to most other countries. I have never experienced it before but my husband has some old tapes of Benny Hill and they are really hilarious. You can read his articles as he writes them at http://www.indonesian-wife.com/article.htm

The rainy season seems to be departing and my husband is grumbling. Now HE has to water the garden every evening. We grow a few things here, not commercially but just for our own use. My husband loves to experiment to see what he can grow here. He loves beetroot but is not having much success as it is too hot here. The corn, bananas, squash, tomatoes, mustard, gourds and peppers seem to grow OK so it saves me a trip to the market sometimes.

We bought another plot of land for $1,500 because we have a friend who owns two other plots that he is not using at the moment. With the three, we are going to try and grow something commercial but have not decided what yet.

You know there are many fantastic products made here that sell for about one tenth of the US/British price. What with furniture, leather goods, arts and crafts etc if you know any importers let us know. Shipping individual items would cost too much so we are talking about container fulls. Labour rates here are also extremely low so if you know anyone who needs things manufactured here, we could arrange it for you.

Well that’s it for today. As it is quiet, maybe it’s the right time for you to plan YOUR trip and meet YOUR dream girl?
